“Listening and spending time with patients improves our ability to make the correct diagnosis and institute proper treatment. My staff and I pride ourselves on being excellent patient advocates, going the extra mile to ensure that their needs and expectations are met. I consider my patients as my extended family and they view me as their friend. Knowing them and being able to help them, is both a privilege and an honor that I greatly appreciate.”

Personal Interests

Most of my time outside of the office is occupied with personal family matters as I am a husband, father, son (and the primary caregiver to my Mom), and a recent new grandfather, roles that are very demanding at times, but also very rewarding. I like music and have played the clarinet and guitar in the past, and I am starting to learn to play the hammered dulcimer. I like to sing and will often break out into a song during the work day in my office. I like to write poetry and I have had some poems published in the past. I am interested in history and politics and as a young boy was able to meet some prominent politicians thanks to my Dad. I grew up believing in the dream of the Founding Fathers of this country and so I will write, telephone, and scream when I am outraged at some indignation perpetrated by some elected or government official, insurance company or administrator that affects myself, my family and my patients.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, graduated Stuyvesant High School and received a B.S. in Biology at CUNY at Brooklyn College. I received my medical education in France and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. I did my Internal Medicine Residency at Coney Island Hospital and started my medical career in Pittsburgh, PA in private practice as well as a medical consultant at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh. I came to Northern VA in 1991 to establish an internal medicine practice with the emphasis on patient communication, preventive medicine, nutritional counseling, and geriatrics.
